Stage 2 loadshedding was scheduled to kick off at 09:00 on Sunday morning, Eskom said.
Spokesperson Nto Rikhotso said that loadshedding will continue to 23:00 on Sunday.

On Saturday evening, stage 1 was implemented and scheduled to continue into Sunday before the change was announced.
The cuts come after the power utility implemented load shedding on Thursday afternoon due to limited capacity.

On Friday morning, Eskom said that the system remained under severe pressure due to unplanned breakdowns and this resulted in them implementing stage 2 load shedding.
