The hot topic of conversation on the Germiston City News Facebook page for the week, January 6 to 12, was:

Many Germiston suburbs left without power

Many suburbs were plunged into darkness last Monday morning. Eskom technicians were able to restore power to the areas by the evening.

You said:

• Khaya Nkomo: “This is load shedding on another level. My take is that the metro owes Eskom money, so to alleviate the debt, it is easier to load shed the area. How else does one explain these weekly power cuts that are spoiling our food, bought with our hard earned cents?”

• Anita Sloane: “Eleven hours in this heat without electricity is totally unacceptable. On top of that, you are told three different stories by the metro if you are lucky enough to get your call answered.”

• Virgilio Reis: “This is becoming a habit. Why cannot maintenance be kept up?”
