South African experts in the energy industry have raised their hands and offered to help pull the country out of the electricity crisis, says President Cyril Ramaphosa while emphasising the crucial role of the private sector.
"Many South Africans are coming to the fore saying they are prepared to help. We have what we call crowd recruitment of experienced people who used to work in the [energy] industry and well-trained experts saying they will lend assistance," he said on Monday.
Ramaphosa was addressing a meeting of the ANC KwaZulu-Natal provincial executive committee (PEC) at the Msunduzi Athletic Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Monday.
